For more than 10 years, the Grade 1 students at Donald C. Jamieson Academy in Burin have been doing their part to support children during the Christmas season. Each year, the students follow the ideas of Phoebe Gilman in The Wonderful Pigs of Jillian Jiggs to create their very own wonderful pigs! Each unique and very special pig is then sold to parents at parent teacher night, much to the delight and pride of their young creators. The students and staff at Donald C. Jamieson Academy would like to thank all the parents who are always very excited for the event and eagerly donate every year to this very worthy fundraising effort tied to the school's literacy efforts. This year, all money collected will go to the local Happy Tree to help families in need.
