Earlier this year, Sharing Our Cultures undertook a legacy project for Canada 150 that gave young people throughout the province an opportunity to highlight, through video, what Canada means in their eyes. Sharing Our Cultures Founder Lloydetta Quaicoe says the project, which saw dozens of entries from across the province, showed the students' inspiration, ingenuity and creativity.
Among the winners at this year's Youth Video Festival Celebration, held at the Bruneau Center at Memorial University, the following projects were profiled:
- Samuel Mok of Waterford Valley High School (2nd place)
- Gill Memorial Academy (Honourable mention)
- Jarod Burden and Cameron Warren of Gonzaga High School
- Basma Alfaory and Tasneem Aless of Holy Heart High School
- And many more...
