Student Assistants

Student Assistants work with and provide support to students with severe cognitive, physical and/or behavioral needs. The role of a student assistant is student specific and will vary from school to school.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma, or equivalent

• Training in the area of Early Childhood Education, Child Youth Care Worker, Special Education or other related fields

• Experience working with children either in a work or volunteer capacity

• Training in Standard First Aid, Non-Crisis Intervention and/or Behavioral Management would be considered an asset.

• Proficiency in American Sign Language is required (Novice, Novice Plus, Survival, Survival Plus, Intermediate, Intermediate Plus, Advanced, Advanced Plus, Superior, and Superior Plus).

• Successful completion of American Sign Language Proficiency Interview (ASLPI) may be required.

Salary: CG 26 ($24.54 - $27.16 per hour)
