Full time permanent position for Safe and Inclusive Schools Itinerant Teacher servicing FOS 5. https://www.nlschools.ca/schools/schooldirectory.jsp.  Duties to commence September 2, 2025.

As Program Itinerant for Safe and Inclusive Schools, you will be part of NLSchools Program Leadership Team and will need to be committed to furthering the goals for student success in a safe, caring, and inclusive learning environment. 

The role of the Safe and Inclusive School Itinerant is to support implementation of the Safe and Caring Schools Policy and to build school capacity by facilitating learning, coaching, and mentoring to administrators, teachers, and students. 

As a SIS Itinerant, your work will focus on your application of the 7 Determinants of the School Development Model which are: Wellness and Positive Relationships; Optimal Learning Environments; Instructional Practice; Assessment Practices; Collective Efficacy; Evidence-based Decision Making, and Teachers as Learners.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Facilitate professional learning opportunities at all levels. 
  • Support Directors of Schools and School Development Teams in the interpretation of school data to create or revise action plans guiding the School Development Plan, and to plan and implement the professional learning as part of the School Development Process.
  • Provide professional learning on topics identified through the School Development process that are relevant to the role. 
  • Support implementation of the Safe and Caring Schools Policy and Procedures. 
  • Conduct school wide and classroom visits to highlight and promote effective interventions and practices related to safe and caring schools. 
  • Coach and model for school staff selected classroom or school wide practices and interventions related to the role. 
  • Build school capacity for effective and timely problem solving. 
  • Collaborate with all staff to assist in the implementation of NLSchools Strategic Plan. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with teachers, students, families, and stakeholder groups. 
  • Success in fostering partnerships pertinent to the position and the ability to connect schools and students to these resources. 
  • Strong team building, time management, analytical and problem solving skills. 
  • Awareness of educational issues relevant to the role of the Safe and Inclusive School Itinerant. 
  • Proficiency with the use of technology to support professional learning with the proven ability to fulfill the role remotely. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of Education
  • Masters Degree in a relevant area
  • Equivalencies will be considered
  • This job requires travel and the use of a personal vehicle

Annual Teacher Salary Scale contained within the NLTA Provincial Collective Agreement and benefits contained within the agreement.  

Applicants without the required qualifications may be considered in accordance with Clause 37.01 (d) of the provincial collective agreement.
