Trades Worker II (Carpenter)

Duties:  

Reporting to the Operations Manager or designate, this position performs skilled trades work to correct deficiencies and perform routine maintenance on various building systems. Typically, the incumbent will complete new installations, perform alterations to existing building systems and components, complete material take-offs and requisition supplies. The incumbent will work with other skilled trades staff to perform duties in all trade areas including plumbing, carpentry and electrical and complete other duties as assigned by the supervisor. 

Requirements: 

• High School diploma, or equivalent
• Journeyperson?s Certificate (Red Seal) issued by the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador
• WHMIS Certificate
• Must have experience in commercial building construction and maintenance
• Must possess strong organizational skills, analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Must have a valid Class five (5) driver?s license
• Training in First Aid and/or other safety-related courses would be considered an asset 

CUPE 1560 Salary:     CG-29 ($27.61 to $30.67)
