JOB TEXT: | Full time permanent Instructional Resource Teacher. Duties to commence September 2, 2025. Candidates applying for positions as an Instructional Resource Teacher (IRT) will be working with students who present with a wide range of learning profiles that require individualized programming in: enrichment, academic skills, social-emotional/behavioural skills, accessibility skills, or adaptive skills. Successful candidates will be able to engage professionally with colleagues, families and communities; demonstrate the planning and implementation of effective and responsive teaching and learning practices; provide evidence of how to shape a safe and positive learning environment for students and families; demonstrate a love of learning and an ability to build learner and leadership capacity; provide evidence and understanding of the impact of effective assessment practices. As an Instructional Resource Teacher, your work will be guided by the application of the Standards of Practice for Instructional Resource Teachers which are: foundations of special education; development and characteristics of learners; educational assessment; planning and delivering instruction; learning environment; collaborative partnerships; reflective practice. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Annual Teacher Salary Scale contained within the NLTA Provincial Collective Agreement and benefits contained within the agreement. Applicants without the required qualifications may be considered in accordance with Clause 37.01 (d) of the provincial collective agreement. If Interview Required: Please note that candidates designated as Highly Recommended and Recommended in 2023 or 2024 individual or pool competitions will have that designation carried over for 2025 and will not require an interview for similar positions.
