The Newfoundland and Labrador English School District has compiled an information booklet which contains details about the impacted schools. Members of the school community are encouraged to review the information booklet and then provide feedback to the District.

The following motion was tabled at the February 3, 2018 meeting of the Board of Trustees:

WHEREAS the Newfoundland and Labrador English School District is committed to providing the best possible educational programs for students; and,

WHEREAS school closure is required to achieve that objective;

BE IT RESOLVED that:
Swift Current Academy will close effective June 2018 and students will be rezoned to attend Tricentia Academy effective September 2018.

The motion did not pass and Swift Current Academy will remain open for the 2018-2019 school year.

The Board of Trustees would like to thank all members of the school community who provided their feedback throughout the process and also to the school councils and administrations of both schools for their invaluable contributions.
