The District has compiled an information booklet which contains details of the proposed catchment scenarios and also information about the impacted schools. Members of the school community are encouraged to review the information booklet and then provide feedback to the District.

The following motions were passed by the Board of Trustees on April 4, 2017:

WHEREAS the Newfoundland and Labrador English School District is committed to providing the best possible educational programs for students; and

WHEREAS a new Grade 5 to 9 school is scheduled to be completed in Portugal Cove - St. Philip's in Zone 15 for the 2017-2018 school year and reorganization of schooling is required to achieve that objective,

BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED that:

Beachy Cove Elementary be reconfigured from a Kindergarten to Grade 6 school to a Kindergarten to Grade 4 school effective September 2017.

BE IT THEREFORE FURTHER RESOLVED that:

That Grades 5 and 6 formerly assigned to Beachy Cove Elementary be assigned to the New Grade 5 to 9 school in Portugal Cove - St. Philip's.

BE IT THEREFORE FURTHER RESOLVED that:

The Grade 7 to 9 students currently attending Leary's Brook Junior High from the Beachy Cove Elementary catchment area have their new catchment area as being the New 5 to 9 school in Portugal Cove - St. Philip's.

WHEREAS the Newfoundland and Labrador English School District is committed to providing the best possible educational programs for students; and

WHEREAS a reorganization of schooling in the Prince of Wales Collegiate school system in Zone 15 is required to achieve that objective,

BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED that:

Larkhall Academy catchment area be reduced by having the Old Penneywell Rd. area (Scenario B in District Information Package) assigned to St. Andrew's Elementary's catchment area.
St. Andrew's Elementary be reconfigured from a Kindergarten to Grade 6 school to a Kindergarten to Grade 5 school effective September 2017;
Larkhall Academy be reconfigured from a Kindergarten to Grade 6 school to a Kindergarten to Grade 5 school effective September 2017; and
Leary's Brook Junior High be reconfigured from a Grade 7 to 9 school to a Grade 6 to 9 school effective September 2017.
